Landsat 9 was successfully launched on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, and since yesterday the images are available for download !!! The first scene on Italy was acquired the 1st of November 2021 over Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta.
Here we publish a recent scene of Tuscany acquired the 9th of February 2022!!! Landsat 9 scenes represent a new opportunity for forest monitoring and we are very happy that they are now available!!!
Landsat 9 has the same characteristics of Landsat 8 (same bands, same resolutions) and will replace the old Landsat 7 on the same orbit. The combined acquisition of Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 will provide a complete look at the whole Earth every 8 days.
